Blue Cottages Country House is situated at the foot of the Drakensburg mountains about 20 mins from Hoedspruit and 45 mins from the Kruger National Park, at the heart of 'big five''country. Blue Cottages is also ideally situated for access to the Blyde River Canyon.

Set in the grounds of a luscious citrus and mango farm we have a range of accommodation including a number of traditional African Rondavels, which are idyllic thatched cottages. All of our Rondavels look out over the beautifully mature gardens.
Rooms include air conditioning or overhead fans, most have purpose built en-suite bathrooms and DSTV. We also have large accommodation sleeping six with self catering facilities as well as a number of braai areas.
As well as our charming accommodation and tranquil grounds our guests can cool off in our large swimming pool and stay connected with free Wi-Fi. We have a fully licenced bar on site where guests can have a glass of wine or a ice cold beer. We offer Gin and wine tasting events. Please ask us when you book.
Our rates include bed and breakfast, but we would be delighted to provide a candlelit one, two or three course evening meal. For a bite at lunch time visit our Mad Dogz Cafe for home cooked food.
Mad Dogz Cafe near Hoedspruit
The Mad Dogz Café is a 70 seater restaurant situated in charming thatched buildings and patios adjacent to the Monsoon Gallery. Set against the backdrop of the escarpment, the Afro chic décor, music from the African continent, tropical gardens and water features, makes this the Oasis to stop at.
The restaurant serves a diverse pan-African and international menu. You will find some remarkable dishes like renowned Dullstroom caught trout, served as a salad, pate or simply filleted. Try our Chicken Natalia made with our secret recipe served on a bed of salad or the traditional African Moshebo stew.
Relax and enjoy a fresh glass of mango juice made from the mangoes on our neighbouring farm whist checking your email using the cafe's free WiFi. Open 7 days a week 7:30am - 4:30pm.
