Kamerkloof is a Guest Farm located in the Baviaanskloof Hartland area that is widely recognised for its extraordinary biodiversity, human history and uniqueness. Our heartfelt hospitality, well-informed hosts, carefully restored historical houses and amazing eco-experiences close to nature make Kamerkloof a premier destination in the Baviaanskloof.
The Baviaanskloof is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has three biodiversity hotspots and seven biomes. Sandwiched between the Kouga and Baviaanskloof mountains, the "Valley of Baboons" is, at 180000 hectares, the third largest nature conservation area in South Africa. This narrow valley of about 200 km long, is surrounded by steep rock formations and high mountain plains.
Kamerkloof is located on a living olive farm and is currently carrying out mixed farming. The farm's main focus is olive oil production. The farm's enterprise also includes small scale sheep farming.
We have an Art Gallery and Olives and Olive oil products for sale on the farm too ,as well as a large Info centre, with lots of Information on the Baviaanskloof and specifically Info about the WORLD Heritage Status and why it has obtained that. Come see, feel, smell, hear and touch Kamerkloof....

The Landhuis - Luxury Accommodation
A historical landmark of Kamerkloof and the Baviaanskloof Hartland, this over 150-year-old Landhuis has fully been restored and its authentic interiors still display original oregon ceilings and floors: a beautifully restored historic building. The Landhuis has cleverly been designed into a two bedroom South Wing and a three bedroom North Wing.
Each wing has it's own private kitchen, living and entertainment area with a patio. The Landhuis has several welcoming spaces, including a swimming pool, maccaranduba wooden decks and a viewing deck on the sunny North face side of the house.
The Baviaanskloof Landhuis is luxury accommodation and embodies farm-style good living in a place of harmony. The Landhuis is the proud and joy of Kamerkloof and its people.
Studtis Huis - Family/Group Accommodation
This is a fully equipped private farmhouse suitable for individuals, families with young children and large groups of up to twelve people. The house has four bedrooms. There are two master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a family room with an extra bedroom and a cleverly designed loft area, upstairs from the bedroom area. The family room with the loft area comfortably sleeps 9 people of all ages. The family room has an extra sleeper couch and two en-suite bathrooms with three showers and a bath.
Wildedruifhuise - Budget Accommodation
This is cottage that is quaint and slightly up on the hillside with great views over the farm dam and sheep pastures. The Wildedruifhuisie is a cozy cottage with reeded kitchen and verandah ceilings and traditional Kamerkloof river stoned stoeps. The cottage is a four sleeper with two bedrooms. There is one bedroom with two single beds and another bedroom with a King size bed.
There is a kitchenette - living room, one bathroom [shower] and 2x covered and uncovered braai areas on the stoep, with clear and open views of the farm and surrounding mountains. The Wildedruif huisie is ideal for smaller groups, couples and families.
This cottage has a Wi Fi hotspot too, like all our houses.
No meals served here. gas cooking plates available, ice machine, well equipped kitchen.

Kamerkloof provides a range of fresh meals for our GUESTS staying and using accommodation at the Baviaanskloof Landhuis and Studtis Huis only.
Suppers are R270 for a 4 course pp and breakfasts are R170 pp [ settled on the farm] and booked 2x weeks in advance to facilitate fresh food purchases.
Meals can be booked with accommodation as bed and breakfast or dinner, bed and breakfast options. Kamerkloof is located on a living farm and sheep farming is an integral part of the life of the farm. Eating healthy local lamb from the Baviaanskloof and area is highly recommended.
We also do catering for vegetarians and vegans and consider all other dietary requirements including gluten-free. Please give us a heads up before arrival.
We can cater for large groups and our facilities and TEAM cater for family gatherings, special events and other special interest groups. The Kamerkloof Heritage Centre, Baviaanskloof Landhuis and Studtis Huis has a variety of space to create unique experiences for any special occasion. Family reunions, workshops, product launches and anniversaries have become popular choices at Kamerkloof.

Activities at Kamerkloof
- Hiking/Walking - Guests are welcome to try the well-known hiking trails ,the historical Voetpadsekloof and Damsekloof, and get to know the flora and fauna,Sundowner koppie trial too..all 3 these trails are Green flag attended and assisted.
- Off road - There is a choice of trails in the kloof suitable for 4x4 vehicles or mountain bikes.
- Rock climbing and kloofing -try our chain ladders and eco pools in Dam se Kloof.
- Donkey cart rides - Take a donkey cart ride to the springs at Sewefontein and see the huge, gnarled, wild fig trees and feel yourself almost back in primaeval times.
- Bushman art - If you are interested in the paintings left by the "Bushmen", there are several properties where such art can be seen by arrangement.
- Enon conglomerate - This rock formation, created when the mountains were eroded to their present height, makes for interest as do the woods of Euphorbia trees.
- Wilderness area trips - Kamerkloof is a good location from which to mount full day or half day trips into the Wilderness area and back. One can visit Rooihoek or Geelhoutbos (a permit from East Cape Nature Conservation is, however, necessary to enter the camping/picnic area). Very early morning rides offer the best chance of seeing game in the wild.
- Have cup of coffee, milk shake, hamburger or pie at Bavjaans road stall, 15 mins to the west of Kamerkloof.
